Avv. Piero Petrocchi – Partner

Piero Petrocchi is the founding Partner of the Firm.

Member of the Florence Bar Association since 1968 and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and all the Higher Courts of Italy since 1982.

Throughout his career, he has been working as legal counsel and litigator, advising on private and commercial law, with particular focus on contractual, insurance, and international law.

He has been retained as  lawyer by leading credit institutions, major foreign insurance companies, leasing and factoring companies, and fashion enterprises. He has also served in the board of auditors of domestic corporations.

Avv. Giovanni Petrocchi – Partner

Member of the Florence Bar Association since 1999, registered as a lawyer since 2003, and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and all the Higher Courts of Italy, Giovanni Petrocchi has also been part of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) and of the National Italian Bar Association (NIABA), besides serving as member and counsel of international cultural associations.

He received his education at an international level, in various countries, such as the USA, UK and Italy. In particular, he graduated with honors at Pine Bluff High School (Arkansas, USA), graduated in law at the University of Florence with a thesis on: “Law and Internet: Copyright Law in Cyberspace”, and obtained numerous postgraduate certificates and diplomas, such as the Postgraduate Certificate in European Higher Legal Studies (attending a semester of the LL.M. Program), from the University of Leicester (Leicester, UK) and the B.A. in Science of Administration, EU  Law at the University of Siena (Siena, Italy).

During his professional experience, he worked for leading international law firms and organizations, operating in the fields of commercial and business law, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, bankruptcy law, anti-money laundering law, copyright law. Since 2005, he has been working as Partner of Petrocchi & Partners, assisting individuals, business companies and insurance companies in the fields of civil and commercial law, dealing mostly with international clients.

Avv. Luca del Monte – Associate

Member of the Florence Bar Association and registered as a lawyer in the relative register, Luca Del Monte graduated in Law at the University of Florence, with a thesis in Private Law, entitled: “Legal problems in bank guarantee”.

He also obtained the Diploma at the Post-graduate School for the Law Professions from the University of Florence, with a thesis entitled: “Validity and effectiveness of the Revolving Pledge in the bank field”.

He has worked in several multinational companies, where he held positions of considerable responsibility and complexity.

His main areas of interest are civil law, labour law, commercial law, with particular attention to national and international contracts.

Avv. Francesco Paolo D’Elia – Of Counsel

Member of the Florence Bar Association and registered as a lawyer since 2013.

Francesco D’Elia graduated with honors from the University of Florence with a thesis comparing Italian and Dutch law, with a specific on the women’s work condition.

He works as a litigator and has specialized in the areas of civil, labor, and insurance law.

Avv. Ileana Galli – Monza (Milan) Office

Member of the Monza (Milan) Bar Association and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and all the Higher Courts of Italy.

Ileana Galli is an expert in private, contractual, insurance, and family law.

She works as  litigator and  legal counsel of commercial enterprises, insurance companies, and health care institutions. She represents one of the leading national insurance companies.

Avv. Francesca Farina – Monza (Milan) Office

Member of the Monza (Milan) Bar Association and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and all the Higher Courts of Italy.

Francesca Farina has been assistant to the chair of civil procedure law at the University of Milan and specialized in the areas of commercial, bankruptcy, and labor law.

She provides judicial and extrajudicial assistance, besides being lawyer for some bankruptcy proceedings at the Bankruptcy Court of Monza and managing operator of over-indebtedness crises pursuant to Law no. 3/2012. She is also a member of the Supervisory Board according to Legislative Decree 231/01 of some companies and non-profit organizations and worked as an Honorary Judge at the Tribunal of Milan.

Marina Barbarossa – Trainee Lawyer

Marina Barbarossa graduated in law from the University of Florence with a thesis on “Robots and civil liability: self-driving cars”.

She has been always involved in the world of volunteering, being a member of the Italian Red Cross and of the Rotaract Club.

Her post-graduate studies focused on International human rights law and she attended a training course for civil and commercial mediators.

Her main fields of practice are civil law, legal informatics and family law.

Leonie Hermanns – Trainee Lawyer

Trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, Leonie Hermanns graduated after studying law at the Universities of Heidelberg, Münster and Florence with a specialisation in information, telecommunications and media law.

She has gained several years of experience in various law firms, including leading international commercial law firms, where she dealt with issues of contract law in the areas of corporate, insurance and IT law.

She is also particularly interested in data protection and art law.

Staff

Loredana Melissari – German Desk

Born in Germany, raised in Florence, Ms. Melissari grew up bilingual.

She is also fluent in English, a language she learned as a child and perfected while attending university for a year in the United States on a Fulbright scholarship.

She is a professional translator, mainly of historical essays, the author of guidebooks, and has a decades-long experience in the legal sector. Ms. Melissari has been working with Petrocchi & Partners (formerly Studio Avv. Piero Petrocchi) since 1995.

Francesca Alessandretti – Legal Secretary

Mrs. Alessandretti has been working with Petrocchi & Partners (formerly Studio Avv. Piero Petrocchi) since 1994.

She received a diploma as accounting analyst in Florence in 1993.

In her professional position, she has been working on the following: proof reading and formatting of legal documents; maintaining database of files; scheduling of appointments, meetings and conference calls; creation of court bundles; billing national/international clients.
